Dave Meinert tells compelling stories without artifice, drawing emotionally accessible narratives out of the subjects and people he encounters.  Focusing on simple, human stories, Dave explores the profound in the mundane – the laughter, tears, and awe-inspiring moments that fill our everyday lives — and creates deeply-felt connections between the characters and the audience.
After graduating from film school, the South African native began a career in commercial directing. Dave currently lends his distinctive voice to creating stories that are deeply meaningful and bigger than a piece of film. His film “Run Jose” told the chilling tale of the life of a former child soldier.  A viral sensation and festival winner, the film generated great interest. As a result, Dave and the story’s hero travelled around Europe, spreading the message of peace.
Dave has helmed films for clients including Nando’s, Unilever, Procter and Gamble and Coca-Cola, as well as music videos for several top South African and African artists. His work is a regular feature on sites like Fast Company, often custom-building rigs to mount on dogs, cheetahs, and surfers in ways never done before. He’s currently developing his first feature which will be filmed in the Namib Desert early next year.
